A Small Product You Can Feel All Day
Medical tape is one of those small things we rarely think about until we actually need it.
Once it has to stay on the skin for hours or days, or be removed and reapplied repeatedly, details like thickness, flexibility, breathability, and how it feels during removal suddenly become much more important.
That is what first drew Merry’s Care to SKINIX, a Japanese medical tape brand by Kyowa. What interested us was not only the material technology, but the way the brand starts by thinking about the person wearing the product.
A Japanese Brand That Believes Tape Can Do More
SKINIX was launched in 2011, and the name comes from Skin + Mix, reflecting the idea of creating products that work as naturally and comfortably with the skin as possible.
The brand does not view medical tape as something that simply fixes or covers. Its philosophy is that tape can do more for healthcare by helping reduce skin discomfort, addressing problems associated with medical devices, and improving the overall experience of care.
Rather than asking only, “How can we make tape stick better?” SKINIX seems to ask a different question: “If this product has to stay on someone’s skin, how can we make that experience gentler?”
Listening to Clinical Problems Before Designing the Product
Another thing that makes SKINIX interesting is that many of its products are rooted in real clinical issues.
The brand works closely with healthcare professionals and looks at small but persistent problems in patient care, such as pressure, moisture build-up, skin tension, or discomfort from long-term tape use.
That way of thinking is important to Merry’s Care because we already work closely with hospitals and healthcare products. We have learned that a good medical product does not need to be the most complicated one. It needs to understand a real problem clearly enough to make a meaningful difference for the person using it.
Why Merry’s Care Chose SKINIX
Merry’s Care works with SKINIX as an Official Distributor because the brand’s way of thinking aligns closely with how we select products.
We do not only ask whether a brand is well known or whether a product has a long feature list. We look at whether the product is built around a genuine user need, whether the problem it solves is real, and whether the design actually improves the experience in practice.
SKINIX answers those questions clearly through the way it develops, communicates, and refines its products around skin comfort.
The Three SKINIX Products We Selected
At Merry’s Care, we currently carry three key SKINIX product groups: Cocoroll, Airwall Roll, and Airwall Pad.
Cocoroll was developed around the problem of pressure from medical devices that remain in contact with the skin for long periods of time. It is a roll-type cushion dressing that can be cut to the required size and used to help manage pressure or improve the fit between a device and the skin.
Airwall Roll approaches a different problem: how to make protective film feel lighter and move more naturally with the skin. It uses a thin, flexible film designed to reduce the feeling of tightness during movement.

Airwall Pad builds on the same idea by combining the flexible film with a sterile absorbent pad for direct wound protection, bringing thinness, flexibility, and practicality together in one dressing.
The three products serve different purposes, but all of them begin from the same starting point: thinking about the skin first.
What We Like Is More Than Just Thinness
What we appreciate about SKINIX is not only how thin a film can be or how flexible a material feels.
It is the attention paid to the fundamentals — film, adhesive, shape, flexibility, and usability — and how those elements are refined for different situations.
These may sound like small details, but when something sits directly on the skin, small differences can completely change the user experience.
That is also how Merry’s Care thinks when selecting products. We are not always looking for the most dramatic or feature-heavy option. We look for products that understand a real problem well enough to make everyday use easier and more comfortable.
From Hospitals to Everyday Care
SKINIX began in professional medical settings, but many of the ideas behind its products also make sense in home care when the right product is chosen for the right purpose.
Cocoroll helps manage pressure. Airwall Roll provides lightweight, flexible skin protection. Airwall Pad supports direct wound protection with a sterile dressing.
Different roles, but the same philosophy:
if something has to stay on your skin, you should not have to feel it more than necessary.
And perhaps that is one of the best signs of thoughtful design — a product that does its job so naturally, you almost forget it is there.
